Crozon - l‘île de beautÉ et de la guerre
Today we made an excursion to the Crozon peninsula, at breakfast we briefed the boys on the day's schedule so they can cope and make their own mind. It will be a mix of natural beauty and the ugly face of human fighting each other in wars. Not easy to deal with their fascination for military staff and to explain them the harm of war and the sadness it causes. We visited Pointe d‘Espagnols with the impressive view over the „Rade de Brest“ and it‘s easy to imagine the importance of this places over centuries. Later during the lunch break at the cliffs opposite Camaret sur mér the sea rescue offered some spectacle with a boat rescue exercise by helicopter.

So we skipped a stop in town and just headed towards Pointe de Penhir where we enjoyed the great view and on the way back we stopped at the museum mémorial de la bataille de l‘Atlantique with the impressive anchors from torpedoed supply ship. Most likely a great place to visit when the weather is more Breton than Mediterranean as we have it right now. Time was flying and we had in mind to explore the Grottes marines de Morgat.

Once there we learned that the big ones you can only explore by Sea Kajak, we skipped this plan and enjoyed the time at the beach, where the boys made their first experience with the tides. It was then time to head back to our cozy cottage, as we had to do some purchases on our way home.
